Thoughts & Inspiration

I grew up in a small town, Bailey, in Colorado. It is in the mountains about one hour southwest of Denver. My family moved there when I was one year old and my parents still live in the same house. I have one brother who is 4 years older than I am. I have been married for 2 years to Colby Bowser. My husband is majoring in youth ministry and plans to be a chaplain in the Army. I am a math education major with an endorsement in language arts at Olivet Nazarene University in Kankakee, IL. Once I graduate from Olivet, I plan to, God willing, find a job in the public education system. Throughout my high school career, I saw how much Christians are needed to bring Christ into the schools. Most of my hobbies are restricted since I moved to Illinois but I still love to be adventurous outdoors. I love going snowboarding in the winter and rock climbing outdoors in the summer. Unfortunately, Illinois has neither rocks nor mountains so I must find other things to occupy my interests. Although I do not go camping often, I thoroughly enjoy it when I get the chance. I also enjoy helping with our youth group. So far, I have been helping with both junior high and high school students leading girl’s small groups with each. I did not grow up in the church but God brought me on a wonderful journey to him. As I entered high school, I began attending church upon the invitation of my best friend. My youth group became another family to me, and my youth pastor and his wife were (and still are) godly mentors of mine. I was able to serve as a student leader for the middle school youth group while I was a high school student and I went on many mission trips. This service helped to develop my relationship with Jesus as I learned how much he loves me as I learned to love and serve his children.
